Claudia Pinza, Director, Vocal Instructor

An expert in the Italian Bel Canto, Miss Pinza is a former leading soprano

with the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, San Francisco and other major

opera companies. For the past twenty years she has devoted herself to

teaching, bringing to her students a world of opera experience. Presently,

Claudia Pinza teaches a the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne

University. She also gives master classes in various opera houses around

the country, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.

Enza Ferrari, Associate Director, Coach

A nationally acclaimed opera coach and pianist for singers from Callas to

Pavarotti. Maestro Ferrari is the former director of the apprentice

program at La Scala.

Gianni Cappelletto, Assistant Coach

Mr. Cappelletto is an Assistant Conductor with the Treviso Opera

Company and a professor at the Conservatory of Castel Franco.

Maurizio Arena, Advanced Training

Maestro Arena is a world-renowned conductor whose performances have

been acclaimed throughout Europe, the Far East and North America. He

recently recorded Adriana Lecouvreur and Francesca da Rimini on the

RCA label.

Maria Chiara, Master Class

Famous international soprano, Maria Chiara's reputation extends from

Milano, Vienna, Paris and London to Tokyo, San Francisco, Chicago,

Washington and New York.

Vivica Genaux, Master Class

Acknowledged as one of the most accomplished interpreters of the

Baroque and bel canto repertoires, Ms. Genaux has appeared throughout

the world on opera and concert stages. Her growing library of discs is

widely praised, with two of her recordings nominated for Grammy

Awards. She is proud to continue a long-time association with

EPCASO. Having been a participant in the program from 1992-96, she

returns this summer to teach a Master Class. The EPCASO program was

an important early training ground for her and has been a constant

support throughout her career.

Rosetta Bassi, Language Instructor

Ms. Bassi specializes in Italian language instruction and grammar.
